PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient method for connecting fibers with each other attachably and detachably with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The method for connecting optical fibers comprises a process of preparing a tube having a through-hole, a process of inserting a first and second optical fibers into the through-hole from the inverse directions to each other, a process of holding in such a manner that the top ends of the first and second optical fibers are brought into contact with each other in the through-hole and a process of supporting the first and second optical fibers by means of the tube in a state that the top ends of the first and second optical fibers are brought into contact with each other and are aligned to each other in the through-hole by narrowing the through-hole .
