PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair whose weight is reduced, and in which a solar battery is used as a sufficient auxiliary power source for electric motors. SOLUTION: This wheelchair includes: wheels 21, 22; a seat part 31; a backrest part 32; a frame 10 for supporting the wheels, the seat part, and the backrest part; and the electric motors 51, 52 for driving the wheels. At least the frame is made of plastics or reinforced plastics. The backrest part includes: stays 33 extending over the head of a sitting person; and a solar cell 40 fixed to the stays so as to receive sunlight onto a part above the sitting person.
