The invention concerns a method to produce a layer electrode for electrochemical components with a layer (2, 14) applied to a metal film (3), whereby to produce a connection between the metal film (3) and the layer (2, 14) a surface section (1) of the layer (2) is pressed over a part of the thickness (D) of the layer (2) into the softened metal film (3), and whereby the metal film (3) is softened during the pressing. Furthermore, the invention concerns the layer electrode. The ohmic resistance of the layer electrode can be reduced in an advantageous manner via the pressing of surface sections 1) of the layer (2, 14) into the metal film (3).
