<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of diluting exhaust gas so as to set the concentration of hydrogen in the exhaust gas below a reference value to discharge the exhaust gas to the outside at proper timing without degrading power generation capability by a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: A discharge amount calculation part 45 calculates the discharge amount of the exhaust gas from a power generation current IFC detected by a voltage/current detection part 44, and a supply air flow volume Q<SB>W</SB>detected by a flow volume detection part 24. A purge parameter calculation part 46 calculates a purge time T1 and a purge interval time T2 from the discharge amount. A purge valve adjustment part 48 opens or closes a purge valve 26 based on the calculated purge time T1 and purge interval time T2, and outputs the exhaust gas containing hydrogen gas H<SB>2</SB>to a hydrogen dilution box 28. The dilution box 28 dilutes the hydrogen gas H<SB>2</SB>by the exhaust gas discharged from a cathode electrode of a fuel cell stack 12 to discharge it to the outside. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
