<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that shortens first copy output time (FCOT) while restricting the peak value of a current flowing in a drive means. <P>SOLUTION: Currents flowing in a fixing motor 201 and a main motor 202 are controlled according to an operation state of the image forming apparatus. For example, to drive the fixing motor 201 with priority according to the temperature of a fixing unit, current flowing in the fixing motor 201 is made more than that flowing at the time of a steady state whereas current flowing in the main motor 202 is made less than that flowing at the time of the steady state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
