PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security system and alert mode switching method in a security system, capable of enhancing security. SOLUTION: The security system 1 has an abnormality detection sensor 23, an alert mode setting switch 22 and a security control microcomputer 25. The alert mode setting switch 22 is operated for switching to an alert mode to activate a detection function of the abnormality detection sensor 23. The security control microcomputer 25 performs setting to the alert mode through operation of the alert mode setting switch 22 when door locks 11, 12 are in the locked state, and cancels the alert mode when the locks 11, 12 are unlocked. The security control microcomputer 25 performs the resetting of the alert mode provided that a door is not opened after cancellation of the alert mode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
