PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic container which facilitates the loading of the lid on or unloading thereof from the body. SOLUTION: In the cosmetic container, as the lid 2 is inserted externally onto the body 1 from the insertion side end thereof so that a protruded part 5 matches with the first groove 30, the protruded part 5 intrudes into the first groove 30 and slides thereon being guided in the direction of the axis thereof. When the lid 2 and the body 1 are turned relatively, the protruded part 5 further intrudes into the second groove 31 from the first groove 30 and slides thereon being guided circumferentially. This facilitates the mounting of the lid 2 on the body 1. Under such a condition, when the lid 2 and the body l are turned relatively to get the protruded part 5 located at the exposing position of the second groove 31, the window of the lid 2 faces a housing part to make the cosmetics be exposed. When the protruded part 5 gets located at the shielding position of the second groove 31, the portion except for the window of the lid 2 shields the exposure of the housing part. On the other hand, when the lid 2 and the body 1 are turned relatively with the protruded part 5 located at the second groove 31, the protruded part 5 intrudes into the first groove 30 from the second groove 31 and under such a condition, as the lid 2 is pulled off from the body 1 the protruded part 5 is guided to the first groove 30 and slides axially, thereby facilitating the separation of the lid 2 from the body 1.
