The invention relates to aqueous dispersions of water-soluble polymers of n-vinylcarboxamides, comprising water-soluble graft polymers as stabilisers, which are obtained by radical initiated polymerisation of N-vinylcarboxamides of formula CH2=CH-NR<2>-CO-R<1> (I), in which R<1>, R<2> = H and /or C1 to C6 alkyl, on polyalkyleneglycols and/or polytetrahydrofurans, methods for the production of the dispersions by radical initiated polymerisation of N-vinylcarboxamides of formula (I) in the presence of stabilisers, obtained by radical initiated polymerisation of N-vinylcarboxamides of formula (I) on polyalkyleneglycols and/or polytetrahydrofurans and use of the aqueous dispersions as drainage, flocculation and retention agents, as wet and dry binding agents, as fixers in the production of paper, as a component of hair cosmetic preparations, as a component of cosmetic preparations for oral care, as conditioner for skincare agents and as a thickener for cosmetic formulations. |
