Spectacle float is attached to spectacles so that they do not sink in water. The float can be retro-fitted to the spectacles or incorporated in the spectacles during manufacture. The float has an air-tight hollow chamber. The float has improved function and the smallest dimensions when the hollow chamber contains a vacuum. The size of the hollow chamber depends on the weight of the spectacles as the buoyancy must be greater than the negative lift. For optical reasons the float consists of two parts to maintain the symmetry of the spectacles.
