An arrangement for cleaning smoke gases (2) from combustion plants, especially solid combustion plants, comprises a filter (5) with a heat storage material layer (4), through which the gases pass leaving behind dusty impurities. Heat is absorbed from the smoke gases by the heat storage layer, and is released to the combustion air that is passed through the filter. The layer material can flow, and is passed through the filter so the smoke gas passes through it first, followed by the combustion air down stream. The layer material consists of natural fire clay, and the thickness of the layer is matched to the smoke gas flow and temperature levels. The filter has a housing (52,53) containing two grating sections (54,55), between which the layer material flows. The filter has an outlet with an adjustable cross section, through which filter material can be withdrawn. |
