<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To considerably reduce a manufacturing time and a manufacturing cost of a liquid crystal display device with a backlight integrated thereinto by integrating a liquid crystal panel and a backlight unit without using a holding case with a complicated shape. <P>SOLUTION: At first, positioning holders 5 are inserted into through holes 4a provided on four peripheral places of a flat holding plate 4. In a state in which the backlight unit 3 is disposed on a region surrounded by the positioning holders 5 and pressed with a pressurizing tool, the backlight unit 3 is fixed to the holding plate 4 by sealing its peripheral part with a sealant. Next, a liquid crystal module made by connecting an electrode terminal 2a for external connection of the liquid crystal panel 2 with a driving circuit substrate 2b is mounted on the backlight unit 3 and fixed to the holding plate 4 by sealing a peripheral part of the liquid crystal panel 2 with a sealant.
