PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION METHOD, IRIS REGISTRATION DEVICE, IRIS IDENTIFICATION DEVICE, AND PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure sufficiently high identification precision in a personal identification using iris identification even under various conditions under outdoor light, in a dark place, or the like.

SOLUTION: The personal identification method is executed by registering a plurality of iris codes together with a ratio R of pupil diameter/iris diameter for each registered person in an iris database . Upon identification, features are extracted from a photographed iris image to obtain an iris code and calculate the ratio R of pupil diameter/iris diameter. The ratio R in the registration side and the calculated ratio R are compared for identification and a matched iris code is selected for the identification as the reference object from the iris database.
