<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which avoids the problem that the formats of image data cannot be converted because of no acquisition of a memory, and also provide a storage area acquisition method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with hardware resources used in image forming processing and a program executing processing relating to the formation of an image. In this case, an image data conversion means having one or more conversion functions which convert the formats of image data, a resource management means which determines the size of the storage area, which is necessary for the image data conversion means to convert the formats of the image data, based on the conversion functions used for the conversion of the image data and an image data management means which acquires the storage area whose size is determined by the resource management means are provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
