<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a processing load in the whole circumferential search using an on-vehicle radar system. <P>SOLUTION: A search group is constituted of a plurality of adjacent vehicles, and a scanning angle range of the radar system 20 of the each vehicle within the search group is limited not to include a range within a polygon 501 surrounded by the respective vehicles of the search group. Other vehicle positions detected by the radar systems 20 are exchanged each other via intervehicular communication, among the vehicles within the search group. The each vehicle within the search group discriminates the other vehicle positions in the periphery of the own vehicle, based on the other vehicle positions detected by the radar system 20 of the own vehicle, the other vehicle positions informed from the other vehicles, and the other vehicle positions of the other vehicles within the search group acquired by exchanging each other the own vehicle positions via the intervehicular communication. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
