PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system, a camera apparatus, and a recording apparatus wherein an image photographed by its own camera is transmitted / stored not only to a controller in a LAN but also to a large capacity camera whose memory capacity is greater than that of other camera apparatuses in the LAN or a camera in the other LAN so as to detect an emergency, and the photographed image is not lost but recorded even when the camera apparatus that has photographed a spot involved becomes faulty. SOLUTION: The camera apparatus in this camera system is provided with storage means for two kinds of applications, and the storage means can receive and record not only the image photographed by its own camera but also an image of other camera apparatus. When a fault detector detects an abnormality signal, the image is transmitted and recorded to a camera apparatus having a free capacity in the LAN. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
