PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cooling efficiency of a generator body having a distributed winding stator. SOLUTION: The generator body 3 is connected to a crankshaft 11 of an engine via an adaptor 16. A cooling fan 13 for generating cooling air for cooling the engine and the generating body 3 is connected to the crankshaft 11. The generating body 3 is comprised of a rotor 18 rotationally driven with the crankshaft 11, and a stator 21 installed outside. The stator 21 is supported with a stator cover 24 arranged opposing to the cooling fan 13. A cooling air introducing groove 28 for forming a cooling passage is formed between the stator cover 24 and the stator 21. The generator body 3 is cooled with the cooling air flowed from air vents 27a and 27b formed in the stator cover 24 along the cooling air introducing groove 28. A recoil stator 32 is arranged between the generator body 3 and the cooling fan 13. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
