PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to perform high-speed menu display that gives little stress to the user and perform a write processing and many processing other than the write processing by the same control means. SOLUTION: A DVC is provided with a video signal processing circuit 1-5 for converting a video signal outputted from a camera signal processing circuit 1-3 into an image record signal and a monitor output signal, a bitmap information generation circuit 1-6 for generating attachment image information to be attached to the video signal, a bitmap memory 1-7 for storing a bitmap pattern of the attachment image information, and a microcomputer 1-13 for sequentially performing bitmap memory write processing that writes the bitmap pattern of the attachment image information in the bitmap memory 1-7 and processing other than the bitmap memory write processing and performing the processing other than the bitmap memory write processing in a mode 2 for reducing a processing load in the case of a menu display mode.
