PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and correctly conduct measurement, in the measurement of particulates within a molten metal. SOLUTION: A measurement probe 110, for measuring a suspending particulates within a molten metal, includes an inner tube 116 forming a receiving chamber 115. The internal tube 116 contains an opening for making the molten metal flow into a chamber, and a gas passage 122, extending from the inner tube 116 and connected with a vacuum source. A 1st electrode 125, containing a 1st member extends into the chamber, and a 2nd electrode 126 surrounds a part of the inner tube 116. The 1st electrode 125 and the 2nd electrode 126 are connected to the measuring device and measures potential changes caused by the particulates passing through the opening part. A liquid phase line press down material inside the chamber lowers the phase temperature of the molten metal, so as to enable the particle measurement time to be longer. A 2nd member is connected to the gas passage at its 1st end, and a chill block 127 is attached to a 2nd end of the 2nd member, with a spacing from the liquid phase line press down material.
