PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic container which achieves a longer life thereof with the easier replacement of the makeup plate. SOLUTION: While the lid body 2 is inserted externally onto the body 1, the side of a stopper 23 opposite to an insertion/separation path 12 is positioned closer to or in contact with the inner circumference of the lid body 2. As a result, even when the makeup plate 15 abuts on a protruded part 20 swollen on the insertion/separation path 12, the opposite side of the stopper 23 comes against the lid body 2 to block escaping of the stopper 23 to the side opposite thereto, preventing the separation of the plate 15. When the lid body 2 is pulled off from the body 1 and gone, the plate 15 is caused to slide and abuts on the protruded part 20 to press it so that the stopper 23 elastically cantilever supported escapes to the side opposite thereto to facilitate the moving in or out of the plate 15. In this manner, the plate 15 slides to be inserted into or separated from the body 1 to facilitate the moving in or out of the plate 15 as compared with the moving in or out of the plate 15 vertically by holding it while no lid body 2 stays disturbing the finger to make the plate 15 move for further facilitating its movement.
