<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static electricity protective element having a low varistor voltage by using an existing material without increasing the electrostatic capacitance of the material, and to a provide a method of adjusting the characteristics of the element. <P>SOLUTION: In the static electricity protective element 10 in which first and second electrodes 2 and 3 are respectively formed at both ends of a base member section 1 composed of a varistor ceramic 1a, the particles of a metallic conductive material 1b are scattered in the varistor ceramic 1a of the base member section 1. In addition, the varistor voltage, electrostatic capacitance, and voltage nonlinear index of the varistor ceramic 1a constituting the base member section 1 are adjusted by adjusting the amount of the particles of the metallic conductive material 1b scattered in the ceramic 1a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
