PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide short-range communication equipment, a portable terminal, a program for controlling the short-range communication equipment, and a program for controlling the portable terminal which are simply, promptly and correctly connected with communication equipment which provides reliable service. SOLUTION: A Bluetooth device 10 has a CPU 2, a memory 3, a ROM 4, a storage device 5, an RS-232C controller 6, a cable/radio communication part 7 connected with a bus 1, and a BT transmitting/receiving part 8 connected with the RS-232C controller 6. A Bluetooth portable terminal 11 has a CPU 13, a memory 14, a ROM 15, an A/D converter 16, a D/A converter 17, an eccentric motor 18, a communication part 19, a display part 20, a key input part 21, an EEPROM 22, a selection instructing part 23, and a BT transmitting/receiving part 24 connected with a bus 12. Since device identification information of the Blutooth device 10 is constituted of a service name, a BT address and encoded data, the Blutooth portable terminal 11 which receives the device identification information exactly judges whether the Bluetooth device 10 which is attempted to be connected is reliable, communication with an unauthorized device is avoided and security is enhanced.
