PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray device capable of supplying a suitable driving force to a stator coil of different kind of X-ray tubes, and to provide a driving method. SOLUTION: The X-ray device is equipped with a rotating positive electrode type X-ray tube composed of a positive electrode target 12 arranged in a vacuum housing 11, a rotor 14 rotating together with the positive electrode target 12, and a fixing shaft 15 or the like supporting the rotor 14 rotatably; a stator coil 17 generating rotating magnetic field for rotating the rotor 14 of the rotating positive electrode type X-ray tube; a drive power supply device 18 supplying drive power to the stator coil 17; a memory part 212 for storing the drive condition for controlling drive power to be supplied to the stator coil 17; and a control part 213 selecting one drive condition out of a plurality of driving conditions to make the driving power supply device 18 outputting a drive power suitable for one drive condition.
