PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape cartridge which substantially prevents a level difference and build-up from arising in a magnetic tape wound around an apparatus side reel and can reduce tape warpage, to alleviate a drop-out etc. SOLUTION: In the magnetic tape cartridge 100 which rotatably houses a cartridge side reel 25 with a coil of the magnetic tape 23 wound thereon within a cartridge case 21, a leader pin 29 for leading the magnetic tape 23 and drawing the tape out into a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus is joined to the tip of the magnetic tape 23 via a leader 27 and forming the leader 27 interposed between the leader pin 29 and the magnetic tape 23 consists of a plurality of wires.
