PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk reproducing apparatus which can effectively utilize a RAM area and save the RAM area by eliminating the need of deploying a display program on the RAM when rewriting a control program in a flash memory. SOLUTION: A control program in the flash memory 172 is deployed in an area for deployment on the RAM 173 when rewriting of a program is instructed from an operation unit 19 or the like, then an address of the area for deployment is changed to the address of an area for display, and after that, data of the area for deployment which is changed to the area for display is read, outputted, and displayed in a display device 21. Consequently, the RAM area can be effectively used and the RAM area can be saved, since there is no need to deploy the display program on the RAM 173. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
