PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small, large capacity, and removable magnetic recording medium which is inexpensive, high in performance and highly reliable. SOLUTION: In a disk medium 1 used for a magnetic recording system in which the disk medium 1 is removable, the disk medium 1 is stored in a cartridge 3, the disk diameter is≥20 mm and≤50 mm, and the disk has a recording layer containing ferromagnetic metal alloy including cobalt at least on one face of a flexible polymer support member. Thereby, the disk medium stored in the cartridge is high in performance and highly reliable and inexpensive as it has a recording layer containing ferromagnetic metal alloy including cobalt at least on one face of the flexible polymer support member.
