PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple dwelling house equipped with a home elevator commonly usable among adjacent dwelling units without disturbing each other's life in respective dwelling units. SOLUTION: The home elevator 14 is equipped with an elevator shaft 20 provided to be vertically extended, a cage 22 liftably disposed in the elevator shaft 20, a drive means lifting the cage 22 in the elevator shaft 20, operation panel for calling the cage provided on each floor, an elevator entrances 30 to the elevator shaft provided on the each floor to be opened/closed by an open/close door 28 to the elevator shaft, the elevator entrance of the cage provided corresponding to the elevator entrance 30 to the elevator shaft to be opened/closed by the open/close door 32 of the cage, and an operation panel for lifting disposed inside the cage 22. The elevator entrance of the cage and the open/close door 32 of the cage are provided at the places where the cage 22 faces the dwelling units A, B or the dwelling units C, D respectively. The cage 22 is constituted so that the inside of the cage 22 is opened to the outside only through an opened elevator entrance of the cage in a state where the open/close door 32 of the cage is opened, and the elevator entrance of the cage is opened.
