<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in recording characteristics after long term storage, even for an initialization-free medium using a Bi (bismuth) based material as a crystallization promotion layer. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical information recording medium having at least a dielectric layer, a crystallization promotion layer, a recording layer and a reflective layer, main component of the crystallization promotion layer is Bi, and at least one side of layers contacting to the crystallization promotion layer does not contain a sulfur element. The recording characteristics does not change even after keeping the recording medium for a long period of time in comparing with immediately after manufacturing, since the thermal property of layers contacting with the Bi does not change as the Bi is sulfurated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
