PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for assembling an optical pickup device in which a disk is irradiated with three beams. SOLUTION: A circuit block 174 used for regulating the optical pickup system comprises a portion 175 where a tracking error signal is formed by using the main beam and adders 100, 101 and 102 which check the positions of the sub-beams and the main beam. The method consists of a first step of arranging the sub-beams onto the lands adjacent to the groove irradiated with the main beam and a second step of arranging the sub-beams arranged in the second step to the further suitable positions on the lands. In the first and second steps, the position regulation of the sub-beams is performed while tracking control is performed by the main beam. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
