PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem that the components of a computer are greatly miniaturized, but meanwhile a further miniaturization of the computer is virtually limited from the necessity of providing a display monitor, and to provide a small display monitor that can display information comfortably and does not occupy a spacious fixed place. SOLUTION: A projection display includes a light projection part for generating and projecting light, an oscillation part 105 for making the light projected from the light projection part oscillate, and a frequency generation and modulation part. The frequency generation and modulation part operates the oscillation part 105, and modulates the light projected from the light projection part. Next, the oscillation part 105 makes the light projected from the light projection part oscillate two-dimensionally, thereby the projected light scans a reflection surface with a raster pattern. At the same time, the frequency generation and modulation part modulates the light projected from the light projection part so as to synchronize with scanning processing and supplied image data, thereby the projected light reflects images corresponding to the image data on a scanning range.
