PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deposit conveying mechanism capable of efficiently conveying a deposit. SOLUTION: This deposit conveying mechanism comprises a suction opening part 12, a vertical pipe part 13 and a horizontal pipe part 14 which is almost horizontally elongated in a lateral direction, and the pipe part 14 is supported in a position below a hydraulic-grade line in water in a water storage place. Furthermore, the deposit conveying mechanism is equipped with: a carrier pipe 10 which is moved up and down by a lifting and lowering device 38 in such a manner that the suction opening part 12 is brought into contact with/separated from a water bottom surface in the water storage place, in the conveyance of the deposit; a cup-shaped body 60 which is provided in the opening part 12 of the carrier pipe 10, into which the opening part 12 goes in a vertically movable manner, and which is formed in such a shape as to be opened downward; a water vapor supply part 73 for supplying water vapor into the cup-shaped body 60; and a compressed gas supply part 74 for supplying a compressed gas into the cup-shaped body 60.
