PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a quality improver for cut flowers, which improves the appearance of cut flowers, has life prolongation effect, is highly safe and is inexpensive, and to provide a method for improving qualities of cut flowers. SOLUTION: The quality improver for cut flowers comprises aβ-glucooligosaccharide and/or its reduced substance as an active ingredient. Gentioligosaccharide is preferable as theβ-glucooligosaccharide. The quality improver for cut flowers preferably contains another saccharide. The method for improving qualities of cut flowers comprises diluting the quality improver with water to prepare an aqueous solution and bringing the aqueous solution into contact with the cut flowers by immersing the cut ends of the cut flowers in the aqueous solution or spraying the cut flowers with the aqueous solution.
