PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent fragments of a medium, aerosol or the like from depositing in the suction hole of a suction platen. SOLUTION: The suction platen assembly for a fluid ejector comprises a platen (101) having a plurality of suction holes (102) wherein at least one (102B) of the plurality of suction holes has a side wall (208A, 208B) shaped to avoid clogging thus substantially avoiding deposition of fragments of a medium and aerosol containing fluid particles on the the side wall.
