Crops are harvested by cutting near to ground level and are then transported into a storage wagon [2]. Cutting is carried out by a series of blades [4] arranged in a line. The blades are sharpened by a grinding wheel [7] that is mounted on a carriage [8] that can be moved along the line of blades by a motor. The cutter is moved through an arc [17] by a hydraulic actuator [16].
