<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment device which is capable of partially changing surface qualities of image prints obtained by various image-forming methods and an image-forming apparatus which is equipped with the surface treatment device and is capable of easily forming images partially varying in the surface qualities. <P>SOLUTION: The surface treatment device has a sheet member heating means which heats a sheet member, a sheet member cooling means which cools the sheet member in contact with a contact member, and a depression-and-protrusion shape control means which forms depression-and-protrusion shapes by partially varying the surface of the sheet member by at least one of the sheet member heating means and sheet member cooling means. The contact member is preferably in the aspect that has the different qualities in at least a portion, the aspect that the qualities are at least either of the surface qualities and thermal conductivity or the aspect that the sheet member heating means heats at least a portion of the sheet member brought into contact with the contact member at different quantities of heat. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
