<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated electrode capable of immobilizing isolated cells and/or cultured cells on the electrode, without damaging the cell membranes, and capable of detecting electrophysiological activity of the immobilized cells with enough sensitivity. <P>SOLUTION: This integrated electrode is equipped with a substrate having at least one electric conductor, and with a wiring part for leading out electric signals from the electric conductor, so as to detect the electric signals caused by electrophysiological changes of the cells which are immobilized on a surface of the electric conductor, wherein at least a part of the surface of the electric conductor is covered with a dielectric material, the dielectric material comprises a positively charging polymer material, and the cells comprise isolated cells and/or cultured cells. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
