<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable form turbine capable of reducing limitation of effective braking force at the time of braking. <P>SOLUTION: This variable form turbine has a circular inlet passage 6, and the circular inlet passage 6 is formed between a radial wall 7 of a movable wall member and a counter wall 9 of a turbine housing 3. The movable wall member is installed in a circular cavity. The circular cavity is provided in the housing. Between a circular flange 21 of the movable wall member and an outer surface 21 of the cavity adjoining it, a circular seal 26 is disposed. An inlet bypass passage 32 is provided in the circular flange 21, so that when the movable wall member moves, the circular seal 26 axially moves relatively to the inlet bypass passage 32. When the circular wall member approaches the counter wall 9, the bypass passage 32 sends exhaust gas through the cavity to a turbine wheel 12, as the circular seal 26 and the bypass passage 32 are axially disposed.
