PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single-plate type color image display device which can make a display of high resolution and has high light utilization. SOLUTION: Respective light beams of red, green, and blue from light source parts 1a, 1b, and 1c while scanned by polygon mirrors 6a, 6b, and 6c are guided onto an image display element 4 to form a rectangular strapped lighting area. Respective pixels of the image display element 4 are driven with video signals corresponding to the colors of light beams incident on the pixels. Phase adjusting means 8a, 8b, and 8c output delay signals S11a, S11b, and S11c having specified phase differences against a motor clock signal S10 fed from a motor clock generating means 9, and the respective polygon mirrors 6a, 6b, and 6c rotate according to them. Consequently, the single plate type color image display device is realized which has high resolution and high light utilization. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
