PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous secondary battery with a superior charge and discharge cycle characteristic and high reliability by suppressing expansion and shrinkage of an electrode group following heat generation during a charge and discharge cycle in a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprising an electrode group comprised by winding a positive plate and a negative plate via a separator in an insulated state, a nonaqueous electrolyte, and a battery case housing the electrode group and the nonaqueous electrolyte. SOLUTION: In an area wherein the battery case and a positive electrode collector face each other via the separator without a positive electrode mix layer of the positive plate, an insulating member with an optimum width is arranged on the separator of an outermost circumference in a position facing both upper and lower end parts of the positive electrode collector.
