PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compute at least one of the full length and the full width of an object vessel with high precision. SOLUTION: The ship shape calculation system 1 computes the full length and the full width representing the shape of a ship of an object on earth surface, based on a full-length image value and a full-width image value which are obtained by principal component analysis to an image of the object ship in a synthetic aperture radar image on the earth surface. The calculation system 1 is provided with a calculation part 5 of the full length and the full width which compensates the image values of the ship, based on a correction value compensating the error caused by double bounds to the image values of the object ship, Since a correction means is installed which compensates the full-length image value of the object ship based on the correction value compensating the error caused by the double bounds to the full-length image value of the object ship, the full-length of the ship of the object on the earth surface can be computed with high precision.
