PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher for correctly detecting the temperature of warm water (washing and rinsing water) to be brought into contact with dishes, and also to provide a temperature detecting method thereof. SOLUTION: The dishwasher previously stores a correction coefficientβto be changed in response to outdoor air temperature and the intrinsic reduced temperature Yp of rinsing water in reference outdoor air temperature in a storage part. The correction coefficientβcorresponding to the actually measured outdoor air temperature detected by an outdoor air temperature sensor is read from the storage part, and multiplied by the intrinsic reduced temperature, so that the reduced temperature Y of rinsing water in the actually measured outdoor air temperature is calculated (S402-S406). Then the reduced temperature Y is subtracted from the temperature Z of the rinsing water in a rinsing water tank, which is detected by a rinsing water temperature sensor, so that contact rinsing water temperature A being the temperature of the rinsing water to be brought into contact with the dishes is calculated (S408-S410). Consequently, the contact rinsing water temperature A is normally correctly detected even when the amounts of radiation from respective pipes are changed in response to a change in outdoor air temperature.
