PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wholly slim short inferior limb appliance without a backward protrusion. SOLUTION: This short inferior limb appliance comprises a fixing member 15 for a foot placing part to be fixed on the outside of the foot placing part 12, a fixing piece 16 for a calf support part to be fixed on the outside of the calf support part 11, and a connection member 14 to connect the two fixing members 15 and 16 with a connecting pivot 17 on the outside of the foot so that they can oscillate in a plantar flexion and a dorsiflexion directions. The connecting pivot 17 is attached to a position corresponding to an outside ankle and has a hollow part (17a) for the outside ankle to be put in. The connection member 14 is equipped with a force applying mean 21 to apply a drag to the foot placing part 12 when the foot placing part 12 moves in the plantar flexion direction from a prescribed standard position with respect to the calf support part 11 and also apply a return force to it for getting back to the standard position.
