PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a bead core with a cross-sectional contour which prevents a carcass from undulating at its winding end part in the production of a pneumatic tire according to an expected manner, and the pneumatic tire using the bead core manufactured by the method. SOLUTION: In manufacturing the bead core formed into an annular shape as a whole by closely arranging wires 2 over a plurality of rows and stages, respective wires on the outermost side in the width direction of at least one wire row among almost flat wire rows, which are located on the inner peripheral side from the maximum width position, are located on the outside in the width direction by (m + 0.5) times (wherein m is an integral multiple of 1-3) a wire diameter from the respective wires on the outermost side in the width direction of the wire rows adjacent to each other on the inner peripheral side. In addition, the respective wires on the outermost side in the width direction of the respective wire rows reaching the maximum width position from the innermost peripheral side are located on the outside in the width direction with respect to the respective wires on the outermost side in the width direction of the wire rows on the inner peripheral side to reduce the deviation quantity of those respective wires from the innermost peripheral side to the maximum width position inclinationally.
