PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide flake copper powder for electrically conductive paste used for the formation of a thin and fine electrode, circuit or the like, and to provide a production method therefor. SOLUTION: In the flake copper powder obtained by plastically deforming the particles of copper powder, and making the same into flakes, e.g., the weight cumulative particle diameter D<SB>50</SB>by a laser diffraction scattering type particle distribution measuring method is≤10μm, the value of SD/D<SB>50</SB>expressed by using the weight cumulative particle diameters D<SB>10</SB>, D<SB>50</SB>, and D<SB>90</SB>by a laser diffraction scattering type particle distribution measuring method, and the standard deviation SD of the particle distribution measured by a laser diffraction scattering type particle distribution measurement method is≤0.55, and also, the value expressed by D<SB>90</SB>/D<SB>10</SB>is≤4.5. The flake copper powder can stably be produced by compressing media beads having a fine particle diameter in a high energy ball mill, and plastically deforming the same so as to have a flaky shape.
