PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input/output device by which a fault in input/output modules loaded from a PLC side is detected. SOLUTION: The input/output device 13 is that connected to the PLCs through a network and access is performed to the input/output device from the PLCs on the network. The input/output device 13 comprises a monitoring function having: a state confirmation means confirming the state of the loaded input/output modules by issuing access request; a state data update means updating input/output modules state data 12 added to input/output device transmission data 11 by referring to the result of the state confirmation; and a state notification means notifying all stations on the network of state data showing the state of the input/output modules by the broadcasted input/output device transmission data.
