The mounting for a glass pane to a building wall has a bolt (10) for fixing to a frame with a head (16). A socket (20,40) is connected to the glass pane and has a chamber (34) to receive the head. Between the periphery of the head and the chamber is a damping cup (26). The damping cup covers the peripheral and end faces of the head.
