A panel-form loudspeaker has a housing on which is mounted a plate-shaped element for radiating acoustic signals. At least one actuating element is provided for exciting the plate-shaped element with flexural waves and at least one filter is used for correcting distortions of the loudspeaker. The filter is designed, dependent on a desired frequency characteristic, for a ratio between a force exerted on the plate-shaped element by the actuating element and a mechanical impedance of the plate-shaped element. An Independent claim is included for a method of fabricating a filter for at least one actuating element of a plate-shaped element.
