The ramp for moving e.g. a wheelchair over steps has a bracket (9) which fits over the step when it is in the lower position. This is raised as the ramp (6, 7) is raised, e.g. using a scissor mechanism (8). An Independent claim is included for a method for bridging steps using the ramp.
