PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND ITS DRIVING METHOD, IN WHICH PRIMING DISCHARGE IS GENERATED BETWEEN SPARE SCAN ELECTRODE AND PRIMING ELECTRODE

PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and its driving method are provided to obtain highly accurate image display by reducing a selection operation period, without decreasing the possibility of write discharge generation. CONSTITUTION: The plasma display panel has a scan electrode(2), a sustain electrode(3), a priming electrode(13) and a spare scan electrode(14). The spare scan electrode is connected to the scan electrode of an adjacent display cell electrically. Priming discharge is generated between the spare scan electrode of the corresponding display cell and the priming electrode by a scan pulse applied to the connected cell. Then, an address operation is performed in the corresponding display cell and thus discharge efficiency of the address discharge is increased and also an address time is reduced.
