PURPOSE: A shell emulator for a pocket PC and an emulation method thereof, and a PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) including the same are provided to execute a pocket PC application on a handheld style shell, which is a basic shell of the Windows CE, without using the expensive pocket PC shell. CONSTITUTION: A pocket PC API(Application Programming Interface) parser(14) is installed on the handheld style shell, parses the API called by the pocket PC application(20), calls the handheld style shell(30) by generating a structure realizing the same function as the analyzed API and recognized on the handheld style shell, and outputs a result parsing the API called by the pocket PC application. An executing file parser(11) parses a predetermined part of the pocket PC application, and outputs it by changing to the information recognized on the handheld style shell. Controllers(12,13,15,16) make the API called from the pocket PC application executed by calling the API matched with the handheld style shell depending on the parsing result output from the pocket PC API parser and the changed information output from the executing file parser.
