PURPOSE: An impact wave generator for detecting a geological stratum is provided to reduce personal expenses and to prevent explosion or noise. CONSTITUTION: According to the impact wave generator(100) for investigating a riverbed geological stratum, a body(110) is formed in a wide plate shape and is closely adhered to a riverbed. A prolonged part(120) is prolonged up to the water surface by being fixed to a top of the body and has a hollow inside. And a strike part is formed as long as to correspond the prolonged part and strikes the body as it is inserted into the hollowed inside.
